Antibreak
Zach Ronstadt (Antibreak) is undeniably a fresh face to the industry of Ambient Drum and Bass. His vision is individualistic, artistic, and highly melodic with influences stemming from ambient guru Brian Eno, the demonic vision of LTJ Bukem, and the synthesized melodic influx of Orbital. Such a unique synthesis of diverse styles has received attention from fellow producers and fans alike, as a sound that brings energy to the dancefloor but also with a beauty and flow fit for any setting.
With the release of his debut Drum and Bass album, Ultima Thule (2002), Antibreak broke ground in a new realm of deep, complex and melodic music. Singles like "Oil Barge", "Reflux Aura", and "Revolutions" received high acclaim from critics, fans and djs alike, while the album as a whole holds together as a unified work of art.
Antibreak continues to push boundaries in his abilities to understand how to connect to his audience not just to fill it up a dance floor with stomping music, but to make listening to it a memorable experience.
On his personal view regarding electronic music: "Electronic music from the past decade is the key to the atmospheric worlds and stories of tomorrow. There is something incredible lying subliminally underneath. While I am a huge fan of drum and bass, minimalism and landmark artists of yesteryear, I feel that I am yet to create my own truly unique sound. Such a challenge alone inspires me to make something more than just what is or what you have heard before. I want to make something that is more than just a track or a Song. Inspiration is the key to this tangled code of frustration and repetition. One day, I hope that as an artist I can make sense of it all."
